Dr Pat Kilker
Pat gained qualification from University College Cork in 1984 and have
worked in a general dental practice environment. Pat then commenced his own
practice in Easington Lane , Houghton-le-Spring in 1986. In 1992 he obtained
the Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons, in
1997 obtained the Diploma in Sedation Techniques from the University of
Newcastle and in 1999 obtained his Membership in General Dental Surgery from
the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, a qualification only held by some 300
dental surgeons across the UK and Ireland. In between these commitments, he
held the part-time post of Postgraduate Dental Tutor at the University of
Newcastle for 10 years, Clinical Audit Adviser in the Northern region for a
similar period and currently holds the part-time positions of Dental Advisor
and Clinical Governance Dental Lead at Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust.
Pat and have active roles as trainers in the Northern Region Vocational
Training Scheme for newly qualified dentists since 1988.
Pat have an interest in Dental Implantology stretching back over many years. He
have attended numerous training episodes in Implantology both national and
international. Pat applied for and gained acceptance for the surgical and
restorative aspects of their training at the world renowned training centre for
excellence in implantology at the University of Sheffield . Pat is
also an active member of the Association of Implantology partaking
regularly in their educational programmes and both continue to attend regular
educational and training sessions necessary to keep abreast of current
developments in Implantology and equip Dental Implant Solutions with the
knowledge to provide the way forward for Implantology in the North East of
England.
