Can implants improve my appearance ?
Implant supported replacement teeth, look feel and function like natural teeth. This means you can eat and drink whatever you are used to. Most importantly, implants often improve the quality of life in a very concrete way. People who have felt embarrassed and worried because of their tooth problems are often overwhelmed by what new permanent teeth can do for their self-esteem.

Is everyone a candidate for implant treatment ?
In general, anyone healthy enough to undergo routine dental treatment is probably able to undergo dental implant treatment, though there are some medical conditions that warrant special consideration. Certain chronic diseases, heavy smoking or alcohol abuse may contraindicate implant treatment. Only after careful consideration of your medical history could we advise you of this.

Am I too old to have dental implants ?
There is no upper age limit for patients to undergo implant treatment, provided they continue to enjoy reasonable good health.

How long will implants last ?
Once treatment is completed, a routine of careful dental hygiene and regular dental check-ups should ensure implants last probably for the whole of your lifetime. However, just as you would expect conventional crowns, bridges and fillings to need occasional repairs or replacements during their lifetime, the crowns and bridges placed on your implants may also have similar maintenance requirements over their lifespan.

Do I have enough bone to place implants ?
Following extraction of teeth, the bone surrounding the root of the tooth is removed naturally by the body. If however, dental implants are placed into this bone, the implants act like the natural tooth root and preserve the bone around them. Implants do require a certain volume of bone into which they can be placed. Each case is individual and the question as to whether there is sufficient bone cannot be dealt with unless an examination and radiographs are undertaken.
